Children First Griswold is awarded 50K to improve outcomes for our children!
The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund have just granted Children First Griswold 25K for infrastructure support-a continuation of their Discovery Initiative in which communities are supported in their development of Community Plans. We were also awarded a 25K matching grant to implement our Community Plan which we will use to fund a home-visiting program to improve K-3 chronic absenteeism.

Children First Griswold–Making Griswold a Great Place to Grow!
Children First Griswold (CFG) is a community collaborative whose members are dedicated to improving the lives of our youngest residents. Working in partnership, we have developed a comprehensive Community Plan to serve as a guiding document to achieve a result that “All Griswold’s children, from birth through age eight, are healthy, prepared and successful lifetime learners.”
Our meetings are open to ALL and we invite you to join us to learn more. We meet the first Friday of every month from 9:30-11:30am in the Preschool wing (room 3103) of Griswold High School. Childcare is available. To attend, or for more information, contact us.
Why We Do What We Do?
“Learning starts in infancy, long before formal education begins, and continues throughout life. Early learning begets later learning and early success breeds later success, just as early failure breeds later failure.” (James J. Heckman)
