Home Background

For over two years the Children First Griswold Collaborative—a community partnership dedicated to improving outcomes for our children from birth through age 8—has been working on a comprehensive Community Plan. Made possible through a grant from the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund, the Plan aligns the best of our town’s resources around a roadmap that better prepares our youngsters to succeed in school and in life.

Working toward a result that all of Griswold’s children are healthy, prepared and successful lifetime learners, we have been gathering and analyzing data to clearly understand our challenges and the direction we need to take to address these challenges.

Two teams emerged to carry the work forward: the Health Team and the Education Team. Each team has identified several possible strategies to begin to address areas of concern.
